Our Role

Our programs are a result of on-going comprehensive analysis of K-12 environmental and sustainability education programs from around the globe. Through this research, CELF’s staff has identified and worked with several outstanding SE organizations.

We work directly with school districts, making presentations to administrators and curriculum development coordinators on the value and necessity of SE and the options available for its implementation.  We provide tremendous resources and professional development opportunities through our Teacher Advisory Council, collaborative university projects and partnerships with leading SE organizations.

CELF’s professional development programs provide teachers with the practical tools to integrate SE into their curricula and to address such questions as; “What are the knowledge, skills and values of sustainability education? and “What does SE look like in my classroom?”

CELF provides the most proven, effective, and inspiring methods from around the world to address educational and community needs.  By partnering with schools, CELF seeks to accelerate the rate at which children come to understand the interdependence between the complex systems of the natural and fabricated world.  This collaborative role is unique and evolving within the growing community of SE practitioners and related professionals.
